Privacy policy
Holden OBD Tools is operated in Western Australia. This policy explains the personal information used to provide the website, customer accounts, software access and support.
Information collected
We collect the name and email you provide, a securely salted password hash, account status and expiry, billing references, registered-computer name and a one-way device identifier, sign-in and security timestamps, owner account notes, and support messages you submit. The Windows application keeps diagnostic Activity and WriteHistory files on your computer unless you choose to copy information into a support request.
Payments
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Holden OBD Tools receives identifiers, payment status, amount, currency and selected access term needed to activate the account; it does not store full payment-card details.
Why information is used
Information is used to authenticate accounts, enforce the licensed computer limit, provide timed downloads and application access, process or reconcile payments, prevent abuse, answer support requests, maintain audit records and meet legal obligations.
Storage and service providers
Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used, including encrypted browser cookies, hashed passwords and private server-side controls. Hosting, content-delivery and payment providers may process information in Australia, the United States or other regions where they operate. We do not sell personal information.
Retention
Account, payment-reference and owner-audit records are kept while needed to operate the service and resolve legal, security or payment matters. Expired sessions and one-time security tokens are removed or become unusable. Support requests may be retained with the account history.
Access, correction and complaints
Use My account to review current access and registered computers. Submit a private support request to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of eligible personal information, or to raise a privacy concern. Some billing, fraud-prevention or audit records may need to be retained by law or legitimate operational need.
Australian privacy information
Depending on the business’s circumstances, the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles may apply. This policy follows the transparent topics recommended by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Read the OAIC Australian Privacy Principles guidance.
